Dear Friends,
I am writing this at the request of one of my co-workers in the
Service Learning Program in the hopes of gaining some insight into any
ideas you might have on the following subject matter. Marquette
University is considering the establishment of a graduate assistantship
program in non-profit service wherein, in return for tuition suport and
living allowance stipends, students would work twenty hours per week at
a Milwaukee-based non-profit agency for an academic year. At the same
time, these students would be enrolled as full-time students in a degree
program of their own choosing---assuming, of course, that they meet
eligibility for admission to such a program. Up to two years of support
would be available for each participant. Does anyone know of similar
programs for graduate students at other insitiutions?
Please respond directly to gustiss@marquette.edu if you have any
suggestions. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Steve Gustis
