>COOL CHALLENGES HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS TO DO "GOOD STUFF"
>
>After Successful Year of Partnership, COOL Encourages Other Higher
>Education Institutions To Take Part in Snyder Marketing Services Campaign
>
> Washington, D.C.--In an effort to promote the ethic of volunteerism
>on college campuses and to continue to be a good corporate citizen, Snyder
>Marketing Services Inc. selected Campus Outreach Opportunity League
>(COOL), a premier student service organization dedicated to the development
>of service programs on campuses nationwide, as its partner for the 1998 "Do
>Good Stuff...Get Involved!" action campaign.
> An action handbook entitled "Designing a Better America" was part
>of the campaign designed to actively promote community service in an
>appealing manner, drawing students to both national and local community
>volunteer efforts. The comprehensive handbook included success stories of
>student volunteerism, various types of service and volunteerism available,
>and contact information for prominent organizations nationwide, including
>website information on COOL and other nationally known organizations.
> The handbook was included in the sample packs called "Good Stuff"
>that are distributed every fall to residence-hall-based students at over
>860 leading universities nationwide. This campaign will reached over 1.4
>million students nationwide.
> This year's partnership was met with a great success, and the
>campaign is already underway for Fall of 1999. Through this campaign, COOL
>has been able to reach several more schools, continuing the positive
>effects of community service across the nation.
> "We at COOL think it is fantastic that a large corporation such as
>Snyder Marketing Services Inc. has made such a strong commitment to
>community service." said Melissa Kendrick, Executive Director of COOL. "We
>are very fortunate to have developed this partnership, and we look forward
>to another great year!" said Kendrick.
> COOL is encouraging those involved in community service on campus
>nationwide to lobby to get Snyder Marketing Services Inc. "Good Stuff"
>sampling program on their campuses.
> "Supporting a program that promotes volunteerism can only help your
>efforts. Most importantly, you can have your voice heard on your campus,
>as the kits can be personalized with information specific to the individual
>campus service program." said Kendrick. "There are other sampling
>programs, but Snyder is taking that extra step by making a commitment to
>community service. We should reinforce that step." said Kendrick.
> Now, the challenge is to the students, faculty, and administrators
>to encourage their university to acquire the "Good Stuff" sampling system.
> "This one of the easiest and most far-reaching ways to encourage
>community service on your campus." said Kendrick.
