AmeriCorps*VISTA Position Opening
Field Organizer with the
National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness

Work with the largest national network of students and community members
working to end hunger and homelessness. Every year, more than 450 colleges
and universities plan events or ongoing projects to help individuals in their
efforts to meet their immediate needs. To better assist these schools and to
increase students’ effectiveness working on hunger and homelessness issues,
the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness (NSCAHH) has an
AmeriCorps*VISTA position opening with the exciting opportunity to work with
our organizing team.

NSCAHH was established in 1985 through a partnership between the student
PIRGs (Public Interest Research Groups) and USA for Africa to increase
student service and to sustain a coalition of student and community members
working on hunger and homelessness issues. We work through education,
service and action to mobilize students around these pressing problems. To
better assist students in this ongoing effort, NSCAHH has developed several
national programs, serves as a clearinghouse of information, acts as a
liaison between national and student organizations, and expands students'
leadership and skills in order to tackle these pressing social problems.
Through our efforts, NSCAHH has become the largest student network in the
country fighting hunger and homelessness, with more than 600 participating
campuses.
