NSLC Director position reopened

Colleagues,
ETR Associates has reopened the search for the Director of the Learn and Serve America National Service-Learning Clearinghouse. In order to fill this position with the most qualified candidate ETR is conducting a concurrent search that will result in the hiring of a director in one of three possible employment arrangements.
1. ETR is accepting applications for a full-time Senior Research Associate that would serve half-time as the Clearinghouse director and half-time in ETR's Research or Training department. This full-time position is an on-site position located in Scotts Valley, California.
2. ETR is also accepting applications for a half-time off-site Clearinghouse Director position. For this position, ETR Associates will only cover one-half of the candidate's salary. Although off-site, the director would be required to make regular working trips to the Scotts Valley, California location on a monthly basis.
3. Finally, ETR is accepting applications for a Clearinghouse Director (half-time) to serve in conjunction with an academic sabbatical with a commitment to direct the project for a one year time period.

Senior Research Associate
Working Title: National Service-Learning Clearinghouse Director
ETR Associates, a private non-profit organization is seeking a qualified person to join its Research Department as Senior Research Associate.
Education, Training and Research (ETR) Associates is a national center for publications, training, research and clearinghouse services in community/national service, family life, and comprehensive health education, substance abuse prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention and tobacco use education and prevention. ETR's publishing division publishes and distributes curricula, books and pamphlets in these areas for schools, clinics, and youth-serving organizations across the country.
OVERVIEW
The Senior Research Associate is a joint position of ETR's Research and Clearinghouse Departments with responsibilities in each department. In the Clearinghouse Department, the Senior Research Associate will direct the Learn and Serve National Service-Learning Clearinghouse (NSLC), a national resource center that provides reference, referral, and information services related to all aspects of service-learning in higher education, school, community and tribal settings. In the Research Department, the Senior Research Associate will work collaboratively with other Research Department staff to seek funding for and oversee new research/evaluation projects with service-learning components. Prior to securing funding for new service-learning research projects, this position may work on existing research projects.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
As Service-learning Program Director,
Oversee all aspects of the NSLC including managing the conceptual direction of the project, collaborating with the Project Coordinator and Clearinghouse Director to ensure the successful implementation of all program objectives, and overseeing the budget management.
Provide content expertise in service-learning to the project and coordinate the content aspects of the project with Senior Program Advisors, consultants and Corporation for National Service staff.
Help formulate the evaluation criteria for the collection-development guidelines based on current service-learning theory and practice. Provide quality assurance to ensure the uniform application of guidelines.
Develop and implement an annual client assessment to determine client satisfaction with services and to estimate the impact of services according to client self-reports provide analysis of findings and respond to identified issues and program recommendations.
Serve as the lead staff on the development of a single issue service-learning journal (Year Two)..
As Senior Research Associate in the Research Department,
Work with senior Program Services and research staff to secure funding for new research and evaluation projects of personal interest in order to ensure full position coverage.
Assume primary responsibility and management as the Project Director (or Principal Investigator) for one or more additional funded research projects with all associated responsibilities.
Develop and maintains good relationships with funding agencies, and colleagues in the profession.
Oversee and assists junior research staff with evaluation and research tasks.
Review and approve project reports, write articles for publication, and other manuscripts.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Participate in appropriate Research, Clearinghouse Department and other ETR staff meetings.
Participate in agency resource development (i.e., takes part in conceptual meetings), and writing funding proposals related to service-learning.
Complete other duties as required.

SPECIFICATIONS
Required
Applicants must have a Ph.D., in Education, Program Evaluation, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or related field.
Applicants must have a record of scholarly publications/professional presentations and/or professional teaching experience.
Applicants must have 3 or more years of experience in service-learning research, practice and evaluation.
Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Applicants must have a successful record of managing projects, supervising staff and working collaboratively with other researchers.
Applicants must have experience in research and evaluation design, evaluation instrument development, working with school personnel, and qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
Ability to travel to conferences, trainings and other meetings on an as needed basis.
Preferred
Applicants should have 3 or more years of experience managing State and/or Federal grants with preference given to those with experience in Corporation for National Service-funded service-learning projects.
Applicants should have demonstrated success in writing competitive grants
Applicants should have an understanding of managing projects with technology components such as data bases, website and electronic discussion groups.
Options: Depending on candidate's qualifications and availability, ETR may elect to negotiate a one-year onsite sabbatical position that supports one-half of the candidate's salary.
Grade Level: 6
Salary Range: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
