Re: how to respond to today's events?

In response to the statements below, and as a fellow graduate student at the
University of Colorado in Denver (in which support many Arab-Americans),
many students could also aid in the cause by assisting in any emergeny phone
calls, volunteering aid during the blood drive, preventive measures towards
Stereotypes and/or hospital assistance. To find out this information, simply
contact a few of your local hospitalsuniversitites in need or American Red
Cross Agencies. They can direct you, or if they haven't already thought of
the items above, maybe you or the student could suggest it.
Take care all and God Bless,

Subject: how to respond to today's events?
To the Service-Learning Community--
I'm sure that all of us on college campuses are swamped with
attending to students in the midst of today's tragic events, but I wanted
to pass along that some of our students here in Pennsylvania are already
saying that they want to DO SOMETHING so they don't feel helpless. They've
suggested emergency blood drives as many blood banks will likely need to tap
out their supplies to send out to New York and Washington and wherever else
there may be a need. If folks have other ideas about things college
students can do, please pass them on.
Peace--Gretchen Fairley, Coordinator of Service-Learning, Chatham
College, Pittsburgh, PA
