Civic engagement

I am looking for information that anyone might have or can direct me to
concerning civic engagement, civic responsibility, civic understanding,
etc...

We are looking into the possibility of creating a Center for Civic
Engagement on our campus, under which service learning, community service,
AmeriCorps, our Service Learning Resource Center, and several other
possibilities would fit into. Do any of you have any experience with such a
venture or programs?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback that anyone could provide!
