Coordinator, Team Maryland   (109085)
 Academy of Leadership

DUTIES: Team Maryland is a joint venture of the Burns Academy of
Leadership and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The
coordinator will oversee a community outreach program designed to send
students into area schools as role models and mentors. The Coordinator
of Team Maryland reports to the Academy of Leadership Director of
Academic Affairs. Responsibilities include:
1. Create an overall vision, strategy, and evaluation process for the
program, in conjunction with the Director of Academic Affairs;
2. Develop a recruitment plan and recruit new students to the program;
3. Design and teach academically-based community service internship
course in fall and spring semesters;
4. Initiate community service site engagements and coordinate program
calendar and travel arrangements;
5. Maintain strong relationships with community service sites and
Department of Intercollegiate Athletics;
6. Work with Director of Communications to create and maintain
appropriate promotional materials (both paper and Web-based);
7. Work with Director of Academic Affairs and Development Director to
develop
 fund raising goals and strategy;
8. Serve on appropriate committees and advisory boards that relate to
the
 position;
9. Carry out other duties as assigned

 QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
Participation in college level sports highly desirable. Minimum one to
three years experience in athletic programs and administration and
public relations outreach required. Demonstrated excellent written and
oral communication skills required, as well as demonstrated
organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience working in a
University/college setting highly desirable.
