For those who are interested in whether a University can have a positive
impact on the revitalization of an inner city neighborhood, you might
want to seriously attend our forthcoming conference in Louisville on
November 19-21. A partnership involving the University of Louisville,
City of Louisville, religious organizations, community organizations and
private developers has helped create a "rebirth" of one of America's
most impoverished cities. The partnership has gotten world wide
attention with feature articles in the New York Times, Planning and
Harvard Journal of African American Public Policy (see web site under
the icon of newspapers: http://www.louisville.edu/org/sun/). Now for
the benefit of persons concerned with how to revitalize inner city
neighborhoods, we are presenting a three day conference. We will have
the nation's leading experts at the workshops covering: new urbanism,
sustainable development, environmental justice, crime prevention,
affordable housing design, business development and grant writing.
Several different bus tours will be given during the conference. The
cost of the conference is only $15. The conference will have four
tracks: affordable housing development, business development, crime
prevention and sustainable development. This conference highlights
people with a track record of success. This is not your typical boring
academic urban conference. This conference has a focus on the
revitalization of the inner city by developing partnerships between
higher education, government, business and community leaders. Please
