Barb,
La Sierra University recently held our Service Fair. Students were required
to attend as it was an "offical" campus assembly. However, to encourage
interaction between students and the agencies we held a raffle. Agencies
were broken into categories (health care, schools, senior services, etc).
Students who talked with a representative from 6 of the categories were
eligible to enter the raffle. We had 26 raffle items such as tickets to
Disneyland, Magic Mt, Sea World, local restaurants, etc. This seemed to
motivate students to not only come to the event, but to interact and learn
about the various service opportunities available.
