Hi Colleen!

I've had the pleasure of working with a faculty/staff community service
committee at Penn State Berks-Lehigh Valley College. membership averages
about 10-12, but they involve the whole campus in projects. They
organize food drives, an Angel Tree, recycle cans for the Humane Society,
and are service Thanksgiving dinner at the Police Athletic League. And
that's just the fall!

There is also an English professor who adds service-learning to her
classes. Students have the option of writing a 10 page research paper,
or doing 10 hours of service and writing about that. She has about 130
students choose the service-learning option each year.

sincerely,
