In response to the playground question:

We facilitated our community-built playground with kindergarten-fifth
grade students, families, and our AmeriCorps program with the
organization called Learning Structures. They have a strong background
and history with community-built playgrounds and were helpful in our
design and construction of our playground. They were established in 1976
and are experts in the field of playgrounds and saftey. They also assist
with EVERY step of the community-built process. I would love to chat
with you or anyone else on the listserve abour our wonderful expereince
with Learning Structures. They have also assisted in several school
playgrounds, National Youth Service Day playgrounds (with YSA) and other
national service lead playgrounds. The people to contact at Learning
Structures are:

Kit Crews, Randy or Skip
