Share Our Strength (SOS) is a national anti-hunger, anti-poverty
organization. SOS's sixth annual Writers Harvest: The National Reading is
the nation's largest literary benefit to fight hunger and poverty. The
readings mobilize the entire literary community to raise public awareness and
much needed funds for anti-hunger and anti-poverty efforts.
Writers, bookstores, colleges and universities voluntarily organize the
reading. Share Our Strength distributes 100% of event donations to a
statewide anti-hunger and anti-poverty advocacy groups. Across the nation
more than 2,000 authors, including Rita Mae Brown, Wally Lamb, E.Annie
Proulx, Garrison Keillor, and Andre Dubus (National Chair) will take part in
Writers Harvest.
