Hi Everyone,
My name is Stephanie White and I am a senior at Bentley College in
Waltham, Ma. studying Business Communications. I am currently an intern
for the Bentley Service Learning Center. As part of my internship I am
trying to find out differences between our schools Service Learning Program
and other schools... I was wondering if anyone would know of resources where I could find the following information
1) What does your Service Learning program consist of?
a) How many students are currently involved in your program? Can also
estimate the percent of the school population involved? Ex. 2,238 students
- 45% of the school
b) Does your school have classes with a Service Learning objective?
c) Does your school offer a program giving a fourth credit to those who
partake in Service Learning activities?
d) Does your program offer scholarships? Internships? Community Work
Programs?
e) Is your program strictly volunteer?
2) What does your program promote?
a) Social Responsibility? Civic Responsibility?
b) Is there are commitment to the community in which your school is a part
of?
c) Does your school apply what they learned in the classroom with work in
the community?
