The University of Maine has an opening for a full-time Senior $ense Project Director.  The individual will direct the newly established Senior$ense AmeriCorps*VISTA Program and will oversee a statewide team of AmeriCorps*VISTA members placed at community-based organizations serving older adults. The Project Director works in partnership with host site supervisors, Center on Aging faculty, professionals and staff, a statewide advisory council, and other community stakeholders.

 

Qualifications: A minimum of a bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred. A genuine interest in the issues and needs of older adults; skills in personnel and program management, and in supervising others.  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks; skills in working collaboratively with other agencies and organizations; demonstrated ability in effective leadership techniques and group process skills;self-motivated and self-directed.  Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong computer skills, knowledge of Corporation for National and Community Service Programs preferred. Ability to travel normally requiring a driver's license.

Reappointment is contingent upon the receipt of continued external funding and satisfactory job performance.  Salary  $32,000 to $35,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.  Review of applications will begin on October 25, 2003.
