Re: Service to Mc World

Hello Everyone:
Is the problem with a) the corporation itself or b) with the fact that the
corporation is promoting its product in the context of a community service
project? What about local businesses that help to sponsor local fundraisers,
such as Bowlathons, and have their names splattered across signs, programs,
etc.?
And what should we do about students who might volunteer at a local Ronald
McDonald House? Or what about students who volunteer at a women's shelter
funded by Phillip Morris?
In terms of corporate funding, should we begin to examine donor lists before
sanctioning service sites? What if a site receives a substantial amount of
money from a cigarette company and is being used in a public relations
campaign? (see above)
