**Position Announcement -- Learn & Serve Project Coordinator**
Portland Community College, Portland Oregon

Under the supervision of the Assistant to the President for Community Relations, and with the general direction of the Service-Learning Advisory Committee, the Learn & Serve Project Coordinator will plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the programs developed with the funds granted by a three-year Corporation for National Service Learn and Serve Grant. The CNS grant provides the resources for a new service-learning collaboration between Portland Community College (PCC) and community partners such as Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN), a community program designed to offer after-hours neighborhood services and tutoring/mentoring in targeted local schools.  The project will also link service-learning with the PCC Public Policy Institute, an initiative which promotes citizen participation and deliberation of critical social and political issues. Specific duties include:

--  Planning and implementing activities to ensure project will meet goals. This includes, but is not limited to, record keeping, reporting, and budget management. 
--  Linking with community partners, especially the SUN schools, to establish service-learning sites and projects. 
--  Recruiting PCC faculty and students for service-learning projects.

--  Learning about, and promoting, public deliberation models through PCC's Public Policy Institute, and linking with service-learning. 
--  Recruiting and supervising volunteers and conduct site visitations.

--  Supervising staff:  Assign work, conduct performance reviews, hire, promote and/or initiate training. 
--  Evaluating project and report outcomes.
