renovates impoverished housing, and fights poverty and homelessness by
building affordable homes for family in need. Since its founding in 1976,
the organization has built over 100,000 homes worldwide.
Volunteer Services Assistant

Extended Volunteer Position (one-year commitment)

Reporting to the Volunteer Services Manager, the Volunteer Services
Assistant is responsible for meeting the day-to-day requests of department
customers, volunteers and hiring supervisors, as it relates to volunteer
work and life. This may include recruitment and placement, housing and
improvements, conflict resolution, community activities, etc. Duties and
accountability include: timely response to inquiries for information,
following the process of all requests from inception through completion,
recording all results and track as per standard operating procedures;
participate in designing office procedure and policy, uphold policy as
necessary; assigning volunteer housing to volunteers and short term guests,
working with facilities management to ensure simple, decent clean, safe,
housing for volunteers; working with hiring managers to identify needed
skills to properly place volunteers in productive work; handling complaints
appropriately and working with the VS Manager on conflict resolution;
entering all required data into the tracking database accurately daily;
acting as liaison to the Finance department concerning matters which relate
to volunteers, and update and maintain the volunteer stipend confirmation
sheet. The qualified applicant will have a high school diploma or GED
equivalent; at least one year customer service related field; comfort and
ability with computers; excellent attention to detail; and excellent
communication, verbal, and written skills.
