Dear ListServ Members--
Please allow me to clarify my message regarding the Hamline University Journal of Service Learning: this is a hard-copy, refeered journal that will allow members of the ACTC schools and colleagues through the nation (if they so desire) to submit articles, research etc. dealing with service learning and the liberal arts. This idea is to help promote faculty involvement in service. It is meant to be somewhat similar to want is occuring in Michigan, but focus on private insitutions and their work in the community. This is NOT meant to rival Robin Crews' vitual journal, but rather to continue to support service learning throughout the nation.
Please do consider submitting and article, research, experience etc. If you choose to do so, the deadline is July 6, 1998. Hope this will clear up any confusion as to the relationship between the Hamline University Journal of Service Learning and Robins' work on the JSL---two different projects.
Thanks again and let's continue to give faculty, staff and student work with and in the community a voice!

Dear Eileen Donahue Brittain -
If you were asking about the Michigan Journal of Community Service
Learning, then Dale Rice's response was indeed correct.
But if you were actually referring to the "Journal of Service-Learning"
(JSL), this doesn't exist yet - as a journal. It was a moderated version
of this Service-Learning Discussion Group from Jan. 1996 to Jan. 1998, at
which time we ended it for numerous reasons (you can still puruse the
archives of these conversations if you wish...they are up in my website
along with the archives of all the discussions on this SL List).
Someday, perhaps, we will have the resources and time to create the
Journal of Service-Learning: a virtual, referreed service-learning
journal.
All my webpages have been updated to reflect these developments, so
please let me know what webpages you saw that led you to believe the JSL
was up and running. Many thanks.
I hope this helps.
Robin Crews
