At Grinnell College, we have spent time this spring thinking about and formally
articulating our instiutional core values, one of which is "Our strong tradition
of social responsibility and action". One possibility we are considering is
offering community service based scholarships. As we begin to develop a proposal
for this, I'm looking for information which might guide me in creating criteria
for evaluating applicants. Does anyone out there offer service based
scholarships? Are there models you would be willing to share? Please respond to
