Youth Conference

Dear SL members:

Currently the Youth Leadership Program at Mar Vista Family Center is in the 
planning stages for its first national conference, which will be held from 
August 24 -26, 2001 at the Mall of America in Minnesota.  We are currently 
looking for youth organizations who would be interested in presenting a 
workshop at the conference.  This conference is being planned and led by youth. 
 The purpose of the confence is to bring youth to discuss their issues, but 
ultimately we would like to create a network of youth, similar to this list, 
where youth can talk to each other and generate new ideas on how to work on 
issues in their perspective communities.  All workshops must also be led by 
youth.  If you know of any organization that might be interested, please let me 
know a contact.  The conference is FREE and there will be some funding 
available for presenting agencies to support with travel and housing.
