Summer Service-Learning Institute

Due to the generous support of Washington Campus Compact and Partners in
Service, I am very happy to announce the Summer Service-Learning Institute
featuring Dr. Edward Zlotkowski. The Institute will be held at Gonzaga
University in Spokane, Washington on Friday, June 1 from 8:30 to 4:30. 
We are welcoming up to 150 faculty and service-learning coordinators to take
part in this event. 

A WONDERFUL Opportunity!

Dr. Edward Zlotkowski is a leading national spokesperson on the power and
promise of service-learning pedagogy as a transformational educational model
for the 21st century. By illustrating the positive effects of
service-learning in academia and providing examples of how this pedagogy can
be applied to different disciplines, Dr. Zlotkowski will provide an improved
understanding of the service-learning method of teaching and concrete
strategies for overcoming barriers that exist when trying to implement
service-learning activities. Attendees will have the added benefit of peer
support and networking.
Dr. Zlotkowski is a professor of English at Bentley College. As a Senior
Associate at the American Association for Higher Education, he serves as
general editor of the Association's 18 volume monograph series,
Service-Learning in the Disciplines. His most recent publication is
Successful Service-Learning Programs: New Models of Excellence in Higher
Education

The cost is $35 per person which includes breakfast, lunch, and conference
materials. Registration and payment are due by May 9. Please don't hesitate
