Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce that the CALL FOR PROPOSALS for the 1ST ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SERVICE-LEARNING RESEARCH, to be held October 21-October 23, 2001 in Berkeley, California, is now available. 


The call for proposals can be accessed at http://gse.berkeley.edu/research/slc.  The call for proposals is in a dowloadble pdf format.  Acrobat reader is required.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The first of its kind, the 1st Annual International Conference on Service-Learning Research will convene leading service-learning practitioners and researchers to present and discuss new study findings, methodological and theoretical advances, and recently completed research agendas for the study of service-learning in K-12 education, teacher education, and higher education.

Featured speakers include Janet Eyler, Vanderbilt University; Dwight Giles, University of Massachusetts at Boston; Andrew Furco, University of California-Berkeley; Shelley Billig, RMC Research Corporation; Robert Bringle, Indiana University-Purdue University, Indidanapolis; and Robert Shumer, University of Minnesota.

The conference sponsors include Campus Compact, RMC Research Corporation, W.W. Kellogg Foundation Learning InDeed Initiative,  the Spencer Foundation,  the University of California-Berkeley, among others.

The conference will be held at the Berkeley Marina Radisson Hotel, located four miles for the University of California-Berkeley campus.

Registration materials and hotel information for the conference will be available after May 25th.
