AmeriCorps VISTA Service Leader
Exciting Full-time Position Available
Antioch College
        WHO:    Energetic, bright, dedicated individuals should apply who
have an understanding or interest in connecting a college community to it's
local community through service!

WHAT:   Develop a sustainable collaboration between campus and community
through service.  This will take place primarily by continuing the
development a faculty resource center as part of the Center for Community
Learning.  Working closely with faculty to catalogue courses, service sites
co-ops and campus community positions.  Coordinating the discussion around
the development of a Civic Leadership and Public Service
Major/Minor/Certificate program.  In addition this position will work
closely with the academic and the student affairs offices of the college.
        The VISTA will also talk with the local community to determine
their current needs and how the campus can be a resource to support them.
The VISTA will also research and study examples of how other campuses have
integrated service into their curriculum and general student activities.
The position will require some evening and weekend hours.

WHY:    As an institution of higher education we have a responsibility to
share our resources and energy with the surrounding community.

QUALIFICATIONS
College graduate;
Proficient computer skills;
Detail oriented and possess strong organizational and communication skills;
 Committed to serving as a VISTA for one full year (40hrs/week starting
July 20th). Valid Driver's License

THE BENEFITS

Monthly stipend of $730.00 plus housing;
 Receive medical benefits, paid sick leave and vacation;
 $4,725 Education Award to be applied to education loans or future
