speakers' bureau

I have a colleague who teaches communications courses at our community college.
She is interested in incorporating a speakers' bureau as a service-learning
component of the courses. Her idea is to have her students reseaarch and
prepare presentations about the various components of our community college and
then visit high schools in our geographic area to inform prospective students
of what is available to them, and answer questions, give personal reactions,
etc. She would like any models that other instructors-communications or in
other fields-have used in creating and maintaining speakers' bureaus. Thanks
