article on reform in higher ed
28 May 2000 17:49 UTC
An interesting article for anyone wanting to make a change in higher ed.
Lazerson, Marvin, et al, "What Makes a Revolution? Teaching and Learning in
Higher Education, 1980-2000." Change: The Magazine of Higher Learning v 32
n3 p 12-19.May/June 2000
Despite advances over the last two decades made in pedagogical innovations
such as service-learning and less reliance on lecturing, real reform
remains elusive since teaching - unlike research - is yet to be tied to
higher education's incentive and reward system.
