America Reads Coordinators
Applications are being accepted for two America Reads Coordinators. The
Coordinators, as AmeriCorps members, are responsible for the recruitment,
training, and placement of college students in a program centered around
the literacy needs of elementary school children. These Coordinators will
implement and execute the state approved "Reading Coaches Model" in three
Title I elementary schools and will be accountable for assessing elementary
students' progress in attitude toward and aptitude for reading. The
mission of the program is to enable elementary school students to read well
and independently and to foster an understanding of service and pedagogy in
Earlham student volunteers.
