Programs with "4th Credit" Option
23 May 2000 22:07 UTC
Hello, Service-Learning Network members.
I am looking for information about schools where service-learning is an
optional credit attached to specific courses. Our program allows students
to choose service-learning as one of two balanced project tracks within
each course in which it is offered. The faculty members teaching these
classes participate in a workshop and design a clear series of assignments.
Because of some of the challenges involved, however, I am exploring the
idea of developing a one-credit option for students in these classes, but I
know of only a few schools who have this type of program.
If you do have any information, I would appreciate a few notes, names, or
URLs. Please reply to ljolsonh@nic.edu
Thank you,
Laurie Olson-Horswill
