9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This pre-conference workshop is designed for Chief Academic Officers, Academic Deans, Provosts, and Vice-Presidents for Academic Affairs from community colleges and universities. Participants are encouraged to attend with an Associate Academic Dean or Associate Vice-President.
The workshop is designed to: 
_ Increase participants' familiarity with service-learning and other forms of campus-community collaboration. 
_ Provide an opportunity for participants to see and explore links between service-learning/campus-community collaboration and broad institutional agendas. 
_ Explore relevant civic renewal themes at the Chief Academic Officer level. 
_ Increase participants' understanding of the benefits of service-learning and campus-community collaboration to serve the institution's academic and civic missions. 
_ Increase participants' understanding of the infrastructure and faculty incentives needed to sustain successful college-community partnerships. 
_ Examine the institutional implications of utilizing service-learning to promote institutional coherence and renewal.
