WILLAMETTE UNIVERSITY
Coordinator of Community Service Learning

Willamette University actively seeks qualified applicants for the position
of Coordinator of Community Service Learning.  As a member of the Campus
Life staff team, the Coordinator of Community Service Learning is
responsible for the following:  develops and enhances community service
opportunities for students; maintains and develops cooperative working
relationships with non-profit organizations and public agencies in order
to link students with volunteer opportunities; assists faculty with
service learning projects and works to promote service learning on
campus; coordinates on-going community partnership projects; develops and
promotes the Community Outreach Program Office located in the University
Center; supervises student program assistants; manages budget and office
operations.

Willamette University is a small, independent, selective university
located in Salem, Oregon.  Founded in 1842 by Methodist missionaries who
developed the Oregon Territory, it is the first collegiate institution in
the west.  This position and office serves: the college of liberal
arts; graduate programs in law, management and education; and neighboring
Tokyo International University of America.

Qualifications: must possess the education, training, and/or experience
necessary to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform
the essential functions of the position; a bachelors degree is required
with a masters degree in a related field strongly preferred; significant
volunteer service experience in a variety of settings; excellent
interpersonal skills and the ability to work with multiple constituencies
in a collaborative manner; excellent presentation, writing and
instructional skills; skills and abilities in the areas of program
development, staff supervision and budget management; experience with
website and database management; ability to establish and maintain
harmonious relationships with students, faculty, staff and community
members; and a strong commitment to multiculturalism.
