The following article will be of particular interest to Business,
Communication, and Writing faculty and anyone working with an internship
program.

Doing Good While Doing Well: Service Learning Internships. Louise Rehling.
"Business Communication Quarterly" March 2000 v63 i1 p77+

The author talks about the advantages focussing Business Communication
internships on service-learning projects rather than sending them into the
corporate world. Students placed in service organizations generally get to
experience a wider range of writing assignments and more pronounced office
political situation. It is also an opportunity for students to make a
significant difference to an organization, and a chance to build
community-campus partnerships.
