JOB OPENING

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, AMERICORPS ALUMS, INC.

AmeriCorps Alums, Inc., the national alumni association for AmeriCorps,
including AmeriCorps*VISTA and AmeriCorps*NCCC, seeks an Executive Director to
manage the operations and programs of this non-profit organization.
AmeriCorps Alums, Inc. strives to connect a force of alumni that has potential
to grow into an organization that is servicing more than 100,000 alumni
(expanding by roughly 40,000 per year). Currently AmeriCorps Alums has more
than 1,300 active members and a database of over 20,000 former AmeriCorps
members.

ABOUT AMERICORPS ALUMS, INC.
AmeriCorps is the national service initiative that engages citizens in full-
time service opportunities in exchange for a modest living stipend and a
financial award for education or vocational training. AmeriCorps was created
by the National and Community Service Trust Act of 1993 to engage Americans of
all ages and backgrounds in service to their communities. Since its inception
in 1994, over 100,000 citizens have committed a year of their lives to help
solve our country's most critical problems. AmeriCorps Alums, Inc. is an
alumni
organization for individuals who have completed their service as AmeriCorps
members.

AmeriCorps Alums, Inc. is building a national network of former AmeriCorps
members and friends who are ensuring that AmeriCorps is a year in a lifetime
of service. The mission is threefold -- meet the needs of AmeriCorps alumni
(job leads and assistance with post-service transition), build support for
national service and AmeriCorps, and uphold the ethic and practice of
community service.

Launched in November of 1995, AmeriCorps Alums was designed and driven by the
entrepreneurial energies of AmeriCorps alumni. Originally housed as a program
component of the Partnership for National Service, AmeriCorps Alums
incorporated in April, 1997. It is now headquartered at the Points of Light
Foundation. Its budget is funded by grants from corporations, foundations,
membership dues and royalties earned from the All AmeriCorps product line.
