seniors and others with a background in service and/or service learning.

AMERICORPS POSITIONS IN EDUCATION
________________________________________________________________________________

13 full time AmeriCorps positions are available with Campus Compact
for New Hampshire's Service Learning Corps. Positions will begin in early
August 1998, and will end no later than June 30, 1999. Opportunities for a
second term of service may be available. Members are placed on college
campuses throughout the state of New Hampshire. Primary responsibilities
include: developing, maintaining, and/or expanding K-12/college/community
partnerships that enhance the social and academic development of children
and youth, developing K-higher education student service leaders, and
supporting K-higher education service learning.

QUALIFICATIONS
________________________________________________________________________________

** commitment to national and community service
** leadership skills
** excellent communication skills, written and verbal
** volunteer experience and/or volunteer management experience
** desire to improve K-post secondary education
** ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people
** experience with education and/or youth a plus
** college degree or some higher education experience is preferred, but not
required
** local and in-state travel required, thus, a car is helpful

BENEFITS

** eduation award ($4725 after successful completion of 1700 hours of service)
