service learning and spirituality
07 March 2003 20:25 UTC
Naomi,
Just yesterday I was reading an article in Jon Dalton's Journal of College and
Character (www.collegevalues.org) by Linda Sax that focused on civic engagement
and spirituality... in the article she talks about a new study that they are
embarking on looking at spirituality. You may want to get in touch with her at
the UCLA Higher Education Research Institute 310-825-1925 to find out if
service learning will be something that is also included as a measure in the
study. You might first want to read her article at
http://www.collegevalues.org/articles.cfm?a=1&id=1023
Good luck, Elaine Ikeda, California Campus Compact
Does anyone know of research that has been done exploring the effects of
service learning on religious/spritual identity formation in students?
thanks
Naomi Friedman
