Hi Lori - in the health field, there are examples of on-campus
service-learning to promote a healthy campus.  For example, conducting
assessments of the health status of students, faculty and/or
staff...designing and evaluating health promotion programs in response...
There's a paper presented at our 2001 conference on our website about the
concept of the "health-promoting university" that goes into the approach
in much more detail from the perspective of the University of Central
Lancashire in the UK, a pioneer in the field.

The American Association of Community Colleges' Bridges to Healthy
Communities program also has excellent examples of service-learning
projects that promote health and prevent high-risk behaviors among
college students:
