Atlantic Coastline, Maine is a state of diverse regions whose inhabitants
share a uniquely satisfying way of life. Join the Maine Campus Compact
VISTA program and be part of a successful team making a difference in

campus-community partnerships focusing on anti-poverty, and to improve the
reading and math skills of low-income children. MCC VISTAs serve on
college campuses of all typessmall and large, public and privatein urban
and rural settings. Although VISTAs serve in all corners of the state,
they form a close-knit group and meet regularly for training and socializing.
The successful candidate will be a hard-working college graduate with
strong skills in project and multi-task management, leadership and event
planning, oral and written communication, and a demonstrated commitment to
community service.
Benefits include an Education Award of $4,725 to pay for college loans or
graduate school, student loan forbearance for one year, a monthly living
allowance of $808, health insurance, a relocation allowance, and

Maine Campus Compact is a coalition of 19 college and university presidents
established to encourage and enhance campus engagement in the
community. MCC fosters service-learning partnerships that build on the
strengths of communities and higher education institutions to address
significant social and environmental problems in Maines communities. We
work to ensure that all involved develop the knowledge, attitudes and
skills necessary to solve these problems over the long term. The MCC VISTA
program is part of the Northern New England AmeriCorps VISTA Collaboration,
composed of the Campus Compact state affiliates in Maine, New Hampshire and
Vermont.
