SL and immigrant populations

Lewiston, Maine is  a city of about 40,000 which has a strong
Franco-American heritage.  It has had a  99% white population.  In the
last 9 months, 200  families from Somalia have arrived and more are
coming every week.

I am interested in hearing from people who have developed course related

service-learning opportunities in such a context. Any information about
the course, the SL activities, related readings, etc. would be
appreciated...
