The Campus Compact National Center for Community Colleges (the Center) is pleased to announce two exciting opportunities for Campus Compact Community College member campuses.
1. The Center will be hosting an intensive 3-day Service-Learning Introductory Institute on October 11-14, 2000 in beautiful Prescott, Arizona. 15 Campus Compact Community College teams will be selected to participate in the Institute. Applications and additional information is available on the Center's website at: http://www.mc.maricopa.edu/academic/compact/sl101index.html . Applications are due July 31, 2000
2. The Center will be providing four subgrants of $42,000.00 each to local partnerships that include a Campus Compact Community College, a Campus Compact University, and a K-12 Educational Partner that utilize service-learning to address a mutually identified community need. The Campus Compact Community College must be the key applicant in the application process and must be officially designated as one of the following: Tribal Serving Community College, Hispanic Serving Community College, Historically Black Community College, Native Hawaiian and Samoan Serving Community College, and/or Rural Community College.
