A*VISTA Position

Position Announcement:
Burlington, VT

The A*VISTA member for the 2000-2001 academic year help develop
Burlington College's Service Learning programs by:

o  Coordinating free community events at the school with an emphasis
on the arts. These activities include involvement in the art gallery and
arts programs as well as public lectures, art shows, concerts, and
workshops.

o  Matching the needs and interests of students interested in Service
Learning opportunities with local and international organizations

o  Heading the school's Service Learning Committee which consists of
student, faculty, and staff representatives

o  Volunteering one day a week at local partner organizations

o  Coordinating two Community Service Days, one in October and one in
April.

o  Working with faculty and academic planners to incorporate Service
Learning into the school's course and curriculum planning

o  Participation in one or more of the college's established Service
Learning trips (Philadelphia, Central America, Puerto Rico).
