PUBLICATION> Reading Research and Instr: Call for Manuscripts
Reading Research and Instruction announces a special, themed
issue on literacy and technology and we invite you to submit
manuscripts for review and possible publication. Reading
Research and Instruction is an international and refereed
journal, indexed in the Social Science Citation Index as well
as ERIC and reported in Research in Education.
The purpose of this special issue is to provide a forum for
the study and analysis of critical issues affecting literacy
and technology during a period when the technologies of
literacy are rapidly changing. The special issue will appear
in the spring of 2001.
We welcome a variety of articles that help us to better
understand the fundamental changes taking place in literacy
and literacy education including: original research,
theoretical papers, reviews of existing research, historical
analyses, book reviews, and commentaries. While we seek to
include studies exploring a variety of technologies and
topics, we especially encourage manuscripts that address the
use of the Internet and other information and communication
technologies as well as studies of classroom practice and
teacher education with the new technologies of literacy.
Length is not usually a major consideration, but
contributions typically run about 20-30 pages of narrative
(excluding figures and references). Complete author
information and submission requirements may be found at:
http://web.syr.edu/~djleu/rri/auinfo.html
To have a manuscript reviewed for possible publication in the
themed issue, please submit 6 copies of your completed
manuscript and two stamped, self-addressed, business
envelopes between June 15-September 1 to:

months after initial receipt of a manuscript. We hope you
will consider this special issue of Reading Research and
Instruction as an outlet for your work.
Sincerely,
