I checked out ERIC's database of educational materials for you
(http://www.askeric.org/Eric). Here is a sample of what I found:
ERIC_NO: ED106579
TITLE: Exploring Careers in Public and Civil Service Occupations.
PUBLICATION_DATE: 1973
ABSTRACT: The career exploration program for grades 9 through 10, as part
of a comprehensive K through 10 career development program, attempts to
develop an awareness of and appreciation for work, extend knowledge of the
variety of career opportunities, and provide experiences in career areas of
individual interest. The document, a collection of materials consisting of
student learning experience packets, and a resource list, is designed to
introduce the students to the public and civil service occupations. The
introduction discusses the career area definition, course objectives,
course strategy, evaluation, and suggested time table. The course is
divided into areas of government services and functions within which the
students will explore representative careers. The learning activities are
organized into objectives, activities and resources and cover: introductory
activities, civil service, community planning, elected politics, law
enforcement, fire protection, social service, postal service, courts,
related career exploration, and self-evaluation of career maturity.
Teaching methods involve discussion, group work, individual lessons, field
trips, interviews with resource persons, films, and simulation. The
appendix contains suggestions and procedures for both field trips and
exploration trips, forms for exploration trips, job titles, and a resource
list. (JB)

TITLE: Teacher's Guide to Occupational Orientation.
PUBLICATION_DATE: 19
ABSTRACT: This guide is specifically designed to accompany materials
developed for occupational orientation (particularly in Illinois) in the
following five cluster areas: Applied biological and agricultural
occupations; personal and public service occupations; health occupations;
business, marketing, and management occupations; and industrial oriented
occupations. Following an overview of occupational orientation in Illinois,
suggestions are provided to teachers for implementing a variety of
instructional strategies contained in the clusters (field trips,
simulations, use of resource persons, and in-class projects), and a career
orientation package on interviewing techniques designed to lay a basic
foundation for the learning activity packages within each cluster is
presented. Also included in the guide are guidelines for developing
pre-post assessment tests and a Student Awareness/Attitude Inventory that
can be administered at the beginning of the cluster course. (WL)

TITLE: 2001: A Job Odyssey. Your Career and the Job Market of the 1980's
and Beyond.
AUTHOR: Clagett, Craig A.
PUBLICATION_DATE: 1980
ABSTRACT: Employment data and projections for various industries and
occupations are provided for Washington, D.C., and Prince George's County
(MD), as they were presented at a two-session workshop conducted to help
participants assess their career opportunities in the job market of the
1980's. The workshop agenda is followed by copies of the informational
materials distributed during the first session, which focused on: (1) the
demographic, energy, transportation, and information technology factors
likely to affect the Washington job market during the 1980's; (2)
employment rates and projections for the Washington area in service
industries, retailing, government, finance, wholesale trade, manufacturing,
construction, and transportation; and (3) similar data and projections for
Prince George's County. A questionnaire designed to solicit participants'
evaluation of the first session's activities and to identify participant
occupational interests is then presented, followed by information provided
during the second session. This information includes: projected employment
rates and job openings in the Washington area by occupational category; an
outline of the most promising occupational categories in the Washington
area for the 1980's; an analysis of the local job outlook for each
occupational program offered by Prince George's County Community College;
and brief summaries of the outlook for 12 occupations in which participants
expressed interest. (JP)

Obviously most of it is a little dated -- but you should be able to access
these documents through a local college librarian.
Here are some web sites I found too. I'm not advocated them -- just
presenting them.
