Re: Alumni Service Involvement
01 June 2000 20:59 UTC
Drew,
I did a search for you on ERIC (http://www.askeric.org/Eric). I searched
for (community service) AND (alumni). Some of what I found was very dated,
some looked great. I have included a sample below.
You can probably get most of these items through your local academic
librarian or by ordering them through ERDS (http://www.edrs.com). Hope it
helps! Ann

TITLE: At Your Service: Alumni Groups Across the Country Are Making a
Difference in Their Communities.
AUTHOR: Sanner, Jennifer Jackson
PUBLICATION_DATE: 1990

ABSTRACT: Alumni clubs and the alumni administrators on campus who help
organize them have found that community work provides the added purpose
that some groups have traditionally lacked. A community service goal can
galvanize a diverse group, sustain loyalty, and extend the reach and
reputation of even the most prominent institution. (MLW)
