I. Coordinator, Education & Training Programs (full-time)
What: Coordinator, Education and Training Programs, position number 63631
Where: Center for Civic Education and Service, 930 W. Park Avenue, FSU
Organization: The Florida Alliance for Student Service seeks an Associate
Director for the Florida Learn & Serve K-12 (FL&S). FL&S administers the
K-12 school- and community-based Learn & Serve America programs in Florida,
annually awarding $1 million in approximately 100 grants and 300
minigrants. The Florida Alliance for Student Service (FASS) is based at
Florida State University in Tallahassee. In addition to Florida Learn &
Serve, FASS also
includes Florida Campus Compact, the Florida Office of Collegiate
Volunteerism, and a statewide VISTA project.
Responsibilities: The associate director will participate in and help
administer all aspects of the project, including grant application, review,
selection, and processing; training and technical assistance; site visits
(some travel); conference planning; verbal and written communication,
creation and maintenance of budgets, databases, and records, support staff
supervision, and other related duties.
Qualifications: BA and two years of experience. Other requirements include
excellent writing and speaking skills, experience and skill with office
computers (word processing, database design, electronic file management,
etc.), and work with budgets. Experience with grant programs, education,
and volunteer organizations preferred. Knowledge of university and/or state
agency policies, rules, and procedures a plus.
Starting Date: Late August/early September
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and education. Includes full
university benefits. Grant-funded position. Indicate salary

II. OPS Florida Learn & Serve Assistant (part-time)
What: OPS Assistant
Where: Center for Civic Education and Service, 930 W. Park Avenue, FSU
Hours: 20-30 hours per week, times flexible
Responsibilities: Assist with the Florida Learn & Serve grant program,
which awards funds to K-12 schools to involve students in service projects.
Duties will include assisting with publications, records, conference
planning, and related office tasks.
Qualifications: BA degree, familiarity with Word and related software,
ability to type, responsible, hardworking, organized. Experience with grant
programs, education, and/or volunteer organizations preferred.
Salary: Competitive--$8/hour+ based on education and experience
