Dear Colleagues,

Is anyone aware of any interdisciplinary service learning programs or
research done on interdisciplinary service learning at other colleges
and universities?

Faculty and students from Nursing, Physical Therapy, Speech Pathology
and Occupational Therapy at the University of Michigan-Flint,
Michigan State University and Grand Valley State University are
working collaboratively to run a 5 day overnight camp for adults with
Huntington's Disease in Howell, Michigan. A team of one student from
each of the four disciplines will work with a group of 6 campers for
the entire week. The goal of this approach is that students not only
learn about their own discipline through service, but also about
other related disciplines. The faculty involved in this project
would like to conduct some research following the camp experience on
the effects of interdisciplinary service learning on students'
personal and professional growth, and we are looking for assistance
from other who may have done similar work.

Any information you could provide would me much appreciated!

Thank you!
