Service-Learning Resource Coordinator

VA COOL is the statewide office for collegiate service and service-learning.
A non-profit organization at the University of Richmond since 1989, VA
COOL's mission is to positively affect communities, students and
institutions by promoting and supporting campus-based service and
service-learning.

VA COOL seeks qualified applicants to serve as the Service-Learning Resource
Coordinator. The Service-Learning Resource Coordinator supports all
curriculum-based community service efforts at colleges and universities in
Virginia. The Service-Learning Coordinator is responsible for training
Virginia Campus-Community Corps (VCCC) Members, VA COOL student
Mini-grantees, and Virginia college faculty and administrators about
service-learning implementation. The Coordinator provides support for
service-learning, including, but not limited to: 1) researching and
providing service-learning resources; 2) assisting in the development of
plans to evaluate service-learning outcomes; 3) coordinating faculty
development meetings; and 4) coordinating the publication of additional
service- learning resources for VA COOL and update existing VA COOL
publications regarding service-learning.

The Coordinator reports to the VA COOL's Executive Director. Qualifications
Include: Bachelors degree, commitment to and experience in campus-based
community service, knowledge of service- learning, demonstrated public
speaking ability, competence in writing in a clear, concise manner,
excellent organizational skills, ability to perform multi-faceted tasks,
familiarity with Word Perfect for Windows 6.0, Internet, Pagemaker, D-base
for Windows, ability to interact and communicate with diverse groups of
people effectively, personal stability, maturity, optimism and a sense of
humor, ability to work independently in a small organization. Salary:
$20,000 and benefits. As this is a grant-funded position, salary is not
negotiable.
