new journal - opportunities to publish SL scholarship?
17 July 2002 17:45 UTC
Dear SL colleagues,
NEW JOURNAL ON THEORY AND RESEARCH IN EDUCATION
Sage is delighted to announce the forthcoming publication of
Theory and Research in Education. Formerly known as The
School Field, Theory and Research in Education will publish
theoretical, empirical and conjectural papers contributing to
the development of educational theory, policy and practice.
The journal is interdisciplinary and welcomes contributions
from philosophy, including analytical moral and political
philosophy, political science, law, sociology, history and
psychology.
Theory and Research in Education provides a forum for a truly
multi-disciplinary approach to normative and theoretical
inquiry in education, and provides education with a
single source for the most significant disciplinary work
bearing on important educational issues. The Journal brings
together some of the best theorists working on educational
issues, and also empirical and practice-related work that is
pertinent to theoretical and normative issues in education.
In doing this it aims to provide an alternative to the
prevailing forms of educational theory and philosophy; to
bring theory that is informed by the standards of the
disciplines to bear on issues of educational policy and
practice, and to do so in a way that is appropriately
informed by empirical research. In the interest of promoting
fruitful dialogue across the disciplines, and between
theorists, researchers, practitioners, and policy makers, the
Journal publishes papers that are written in a clear readable
style.
Articles for publication are invited for early issues of
Theory and Research in Education.
Inquiries and expressions of interest should be sent to the
editor at the following address:
Mitja Sardoc, Educational Research Institute, Gerbiceva 62,
1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia
