work study & classes

Dear Colleagues:

Has anyone had experience with configuring a class for community work study 
students?  Has anyone required that CWS students register for a class for 
credit?  Has anyone had a mix of CWS and other (i.e., "paid" and "unpaid") 
students in a field education/service learning class?

I'd appreciate discussion/learnings from the above.
