Subject: RFP announcement to colleges and universities
Is your college/university looking for a way to constructively utilize
your America Reads/ Federal Work Study (FWS) funds for community
programs? Jumpstart, a nationally acclaimed nonprofit organization that
focuses on literacy in early childhood education is pleased to announce a
request for proposal (RFP) for implementation of a Jumpstart program at
your college/university. Schools must commit $120,000 of FWS funds either
through existing FWS funds or through America Reads FWS for college
students to become literacy tutors for at-risk preschool children.
Universities who are chosen from this competitive process will receive:
1) a one time grant of up to $20,000 in funds provided by Jumpstart and
the Hasbro Children’s Foundation 2) a long-term program commitment on
behalf of Jumpstart to comprehensively train and provide support for
college students.
