CALL FOR PROPOSALS - NSEE SOCIAL JUSTICE SIG

Hello! I still do not have e-mail at my new job, and it has been a
while since I have been able to participate in the Service-learning
listserve discussions. I am writing to let you know that the NSEE
Social Justice SIG is once again working to put together a Social
Justice program "track". Much of the SIG discussions focused on finding
ways to encourage introspection and deeper dialogue throughout the
conference presentations. It brought to mind bell hooks' idea of
"integrating ways of thinking with habits of being".

The NSEE 1998 Conference theme is "Redefining Learning in the New
Millenium".
If you are interested in presenting at NSEE this October or have already
put together a proposal that you think would fit into the Social Justice
track, please contact me at (202) 328-1102. You can also e-mail by
partner at dhall@saminns.org or fax your conference proposal to me at
(202) 328-7483. (Make sure that you still submit your proposal to NSEE
indepenent of the Social Justice SIG.) Delia Gamble and I will submit
all proposals for the Social Justice track with a cover letter to NSEE.

The DEADLINE is January 30th and I will need a copy of you proposal by
Tuesday, January 26th.

Thank you for consideration of this important call to seek creative ways
to integrate social justice with the conference theme, "Redefining
Learning in the New Millenium".

Take Care,
