FYI: Please inform your students. Thank you! they can also contact me if
they would like to register.

UCLA will present its fourth annual Community Service Conference on
Saturday, February 12, 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., in Ackerman Union on the UCLA
campus. In past years, the conference has brought together students from
UCLA-based community service projects, UCLA faculty and staff members,
students from other campuses throughout California, and representatives from
a wide array of Southland community-based organizations. Attendees have the
opportunity to learn new skills and gain cutting-edge information, network
with other project participants, and develop contacts with professionals in
the community service arena. This year, in addition to local presenters,
the conference will offer workshops by community service projects from San
Jose State and Cal State Fullerton. Other non-UCLA attendees will include
representatives from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal State Northridge, Santa
Monica College, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, and UC Santa Cruz.

Jan Armstrong, director for Leadership Development in Interethnic Relations
(LDIR), will deliver the opening keynote address. Participants can also
look forward to lunch, entertainment, and surprise giveaways. The
registration deadline is Wednesday, February 9. Contact Karen Datugan,
310/825-2333, for more information.
