Central College is a small liberal arts college (1,300 students)
located in Pella, Iowa. Last year the faculty adopted a new
curriculum which includes a cross-cultural experiential component
as a graduation requirement. While approximately 40% of our
students study abroad and meet the requirement in that way, this
office has the responsibility of locating appropriate sites in the
U.S. where students who do not go abroad can have such an experience.
Approximately 30 direct contact hours are required combined with
the academic components of diversity training, journaling, reflection,
and evaluation.

While I recognize this is a service-learning list and that is not
the focus of our experiential component, it seems to me there would
be many opportunities in common. I would like to know of

a) other colleges/universities who have such a program
b) suggested available sites

Thanks for your help.
